Just to let you know if you hadn't heard through the grapevine yet, that Dis-Dirt (Myself and Rich) are now officially heading the redevelopment and maintenance of the downhill tracks at Wharncliffe inconjunction with the FE and backing from Singletraction and the WRC.

First priorities lie with the redesign and layout of Fast Track and the development of the "Freeride" area within the old lower section of Fast Track. Fast Track has already seen developments at the top which run parallel to the old route but the lower section after the pylon line will be completely new.

Next will come the maintenance work required on Nemba and Peaty's to ensure that they become sustainable and focussed allowing the enviroment surrounding them to regenerate over time.

The FE have already agreed a "Challenge" area for us to work in, with the only casualty being Diamondback which will be closed by forestry workings.

Dates for the following months work are as follows:

MidWeek Digs (Weds 5:45pm meet @ top car park / 6.00pm @ fast track U.O.S)

18th July - Moving aggregate from T-Junction to Fast Track head
25th July
1st August
8th August
15 August
22 August
29th August

Sunday Digs (11am @ Top Car Park / 11:15am @ Fast Track U.O.S)

5th August
9th September

If your planning a visit at any time send us a pm and we'd try and hook up if you wanted or if not feedback would be appreciated on any of the work.

I'm sure with the commitment there is over there combined with the Dis-Dirt flair on trail building we can make it a success.

Its out of the constricted "challenge area" set by the FE. Basically they want to contain the DH runs instead of them sprawlling along the hill face as they are atm. Diamondback is sort of out on a limb compared to the others and to be honest mate, its sort of got a bit out of hand width wise and lost its focus, but fear not as it may be some time from happening anyway.

Ah fair enough. I just like the fact there are a good few lines to choose from in the bottom section! Flat out although as rick, char and rob know, it dont do me any good when i snap gears into my wheels :D

I'm pretty sure what we lose from the diamondback you'll be sure to give back + more in the new improvements :D I'll look forward to seeing it all!
