New Moelfre Uplift Weekend Confirmations,

15th & 16th March 2008

26th & 27th April 2008

30th May & 01st June 2008

All are £34 for the weekend inc food â?? deduct £5 if you do not want food.

Food consists of Sat night grub in the local pub - Probably sausages, Chips, Beans and bread & butter. No better way to finish the days rising than with a feed and a few beers. Last time there was 50 of us in there and was a good crack so lets see if we can get more in there next time.

(The price has gone up for 2008 due to fuel increases by the farmer - £1 extra per rider per day increase - not so bad)

All uplifts will start at 9am and finish when we finish.

Camping is free.

Facilities as per usual â?? Drinking water available.

Marshalls / First Aiders will be on hand as usual.

Photographer will be booked for each weekend â?? Hopefully Jim from Fat Tyre Mountain Biking will be able to attend all weekends.

Please make all cheques payable to: Michael Marsden

Please post to:

C/o Michael Marsden

Alexandra Square
Lancaster University
Lancaster
LA1 4XX

All riders must pay in advance.

Please include with payment: Rider names, confirmation e-mail, phone number and contact address and most importantly which weekend or weekends you are booking for.

There is a limit of 100 riders and 4 x tractors for each weekend â?? number of tractors will depend on number of riders.

With Baker making more and more demands on weekends and his mum starting to forget what we both look like I'm gonna have to limit it to one at the most. Also we've committed to quite a lot of stuff at Ham Hill for 2008. So, Like Rick says, I would rather go to one where a few from Ratz go. The April one is looking best so far, I'll look at the year planner with Baker tonight and confirm later.

18-01-08, 16:11
you realise that, that will only stick for about 2 weeks then you just give up on 'revision' and go back out riding.

Fwogddy
18-01-08, 17:15
you have months until your GCSE's!
you wont need to start revising for ages, i never started revising and i still passed everything.

But yeah, do revise, dont do what i did, save all your energy for your 3 month break, because you WILL get bored.

22-01-08, 21:25

Directions.

Head into Oswestry from the first roundabout you come to with oswestry tourist info signs on it ( also a little chef and a burger king at the services on the rounabout.
Come past the cattle market, into the 30 mph zone. Past the highway man pub, over the hump back bridge and bear left.
Follow that road up to the traffic lights, and go straight over
Take your Next right.
At the end of the road turn Left.
follow that road for about 5 miles, you will eventually come into a village called llansillin.
Take the right hand turn signposted Moelfre
Right at the end of that very small peice of road ( just past the 4x4 garage)
Follow that road for about 2 miles, keeping an eye out for a right hand turn signposted Moelfre.
The first farm you come to on the right is Moelfre! turn right into the field and....
Bobs your uncle!!

Fwogddy
05-04-08, 17:11
Baker, i'd say its quicker to turn left at the roundabout at mile-end (little chef) towards maesbury, follow that for about 2 miles until a cross roads with a turning to maesbury on the left and a big industrial unit on your right, then follow that and you come out behind the highwayman pub.
Saves having to go through past the leisure centre and college and all involved traffic.

I lived there for 14 years, take my word for it! (and if you get hungry the highwayman does fantastic lasagne)

Rick Brown
05-04-08, 17:17
yes ,yes guys but as anybody got a post code its a lot easier :)

If anyone wants food that isn't booked on you need to let me know asap and send me a £5 spot.

There is 37 confirmed as eating and would be cool to get as many of us in as possible to make it a good end to the day.

Anyone who hasn't sorted Accom - The Winstay Arms is under new management as from tonight and you can call them on 01691 791355 - Not sure what the new guy is called. - Think its about £20-25 B & B.....This will be the same place as we're all eating.

Cheers

24-04-08, 17:16
Someone needs to bring surplus loo roll to sell to those who forgot, I think £1 a section would do nicely!

Also, who out of the regular Saturday'ers are going to Moelfre?

Baker
24-04-08, 18:12
Ahh i think i got lucky, i too have about 14 exams coming up within the next 2 months but managed to get round the rents on this one!!

I think pretty much all of the Saturday riders are off Matt, maybe Ben Nash, Adam York etc may be about, couldnt tell you though!

No worries with the patches Rich, man it was a great weekend, riding in the mud Sunday was best,20Ft drifts Ive never gone so fast on my DH bike, and on that top section I would of said 30+ mph maybe more:confused: at one point in the mist at the top I lost the track the visability was so poor and ended up having to bunny hop a bush at high speed, shit myself but man (WHAT A RUSH):D :D :D :D fantastic fast flowing track can't wait to go back
Thanks to all,and it was great to ride with all you guys again
