Hi everyone.

Im an idiot with a bmx:devil: and I wondered if anyone knew any easy tricks for me to learn, I can do tweaks, almost do x-ups and am learning no footers.

Any other ideas?

(ps Id love to know how to do whips, how do you do them??)

Manuals.......... this leads to a lot of other tricks, actually rather hard to get but once you find the ballance point you can use it so much!

Whips you have to run up to a jump, take off the jump with your body weight the oposite side to the way you will whip, then swing it over to the direction you want to whip in using your legs to also move the bike round a bit!

Hard to explain really but thats the rough idea!!

One Handers, If you quick with your hand it can look very affective from a jump/hop.

Dont try suicide no handers, slip the pedals and land gooch on tyre - inches away from the crown jewels, i was shaken haha

Edit, grip your seat with your legs!

its actually alot harder then it seems...

A 180 is one of this summers projects, it just depends on whether I have the balls to have a go. Me and my friends are thinking of making some kind of a vid on this summers riding escapades, so if we do youll be the first to know about it...:D :D

i'm getting a dodgy second hand BMX this Saturday, so it's almost asif this thread is for me ;)

I'm hoping learning a few fundementals on a BMX will help my freeride, aswell as having something to do with my mates, who all skate for some reason :)

I still really cant make any sense out of that swifty, there is no punctuation in it and it all links together to make nothing! You may as well not put spaces in because it would probably make more sense that way!!!

Could have been left at that, I made sense in what I said so that is an improvement. Please just do your best and leave it at that, there is no need to slate the committee members who are trying to improve the use forum.

That was a bit low people, Baker's only trying to help after all.

Anyway...

Any more tricks/ideas?

If you can bunny hop and are confident landing to back wheel you could try an abubica; you roll up to a curb to start with and hop pushing your back wheel outwards towards the curb, you then hold your back brake stalling you on the edge. After this you could either hop back off it and fakie or 180 off the curb facing outwards to roll away. Then once you have nailed it on a curb move up to bigger ledges etc.

Thanks very much everyone, there's plenty of stuff here for me to sink my teeth into, and i'll give it all a go, if anything really funny and Bike Related happens on camera, i'll post it here:)

Baker

I'd say unless you already decided on doing so use a helmet for sure, especially with the Abubica because if you miss the edge and slide out or something it could be your head doing the stall on the edge rather than your tyre!

Just for the safety side of things!

Dont worry Baker, im not that easy to kill off, the helmet, gloves and pads will come out before I try anything new.:) ;)

Also you should remember the fundementals to all sports.

Use the force.

just a point on Bakers abubica theory, i find that they are easier to learn on banks/slopes, then when u feel confident move to ledges/rails
