I just noticed that last years event was posted on here, but I don't know who took part or anything, so I figured I would give it an update as this years ride is coming soon!
All the information can be found on http://www.bicyclemania.co.uk/challenge2008index.htm
On Saturday the 14th June, there is It starts off in Walesby camping site here in Market Rasen, and does a huge loop around the Lincolnshire Wolds...
It's 63km or roughly 39 miles... I think there might be a few guys here who are up for it? I know i'll give it a go...
But at my top speed of 3mph, it's going to take me about 13 hours.
Anyone interested? Chance to dust off the XC bike and go for a personal best!
EDIT: In my haste to get this up, i spelt bicycle wrong in the title. Gutted! I'll leave touch typing to receptionists.
I did this last year and it was mint!!! :D really good fun!!
I'm tottaly up for it this year aswell as a brerak during exams.
Last year it was sooo wet and muddy but so much fun!!
But i suggest dont use 2.35 high rollers cos alot is on roads and up hills and it really was painful :')
Took me a modest 5 hours to do. I was well happy because the 3 others in my team didn't even finish.
Come on boys lets have a good club member show and kick some lycra-boy asss ;)

I'll use these Continental Mountain Kings a wide 2.4, the clearance between the tyres and my frame is about 4 mm. Not good at all.
I'll have a go, even if it takes me ages i'll do it, start the training tomorrow!
I saw a few lycra clad XC gentlemen in the distance as I was riding to the hill on Saturday, I was full of beans and roasted them.
I felt a bit stupid afterwards because they had probably already covered some good mileage!
It says it's not a race, but it blatantly is. Ratz tee's are a must :P

Oh yes! Looks set to be a ripe old outing...
Riders under 16 WILL be able to ride, aslong as a suitable (not drunk) parent or guardian emails the organisers on info@bicyclemania.co.uk, stating that you are of capable ability and you will be accompanied around the whole course...
Obviously this is a spanner in the works for some people, it's best to have a written letter from your ma's and pa's, aswell as a contact number etc.
Just thought I would mention this so any under 16's get a heads up.
Entry is £15, which goes to a designated charity, minus a couple of quid into Bicyclemania's pocket for all the routing, signage, timekeeping etc. Last year it was Scope, formally the Spastics Society
I'll bring some forms around this weekend... Cheerio :)

Just so you know...
Scope WAS actually called the Spastics Society. Look it up.
http://www.scope.org.uk/downloads/publications/scopename_change.pdf
The reason the name changed because people started using "Spastic" as a derogatory term, meaning they used it as an insult. I didn't use it out of context at all, nor did I call anyone a 'Spakka'.
If you've got a problem mate see me at the hill, I realise the window comment wasn't funny in your eyes, and for the benefit of keeping the peace 'i'm sorry I rubbed you up the wrong way'. You were a bit quick to jump in with the insults mind... Maybe you should read up a little bit more on Scope and the work they do... and get a spellchecker.
It was the windows comment, not the spastic part.

I think he meant the part about keeping the windows clean in the Town centre, implying what ? If you mean what I think you mean I also have a problem with it.That's posting those types of comments on our WEB SITE/ FORUM that could implicate all of us as being prejudiced and I will gladly speak to you at the Hill about it. Any more comments like that and you will be banded from this Forum (hopfully)

That essay above wasn't aimed at you Mikey... But I get where you're both coming from, it was a bit tight.
I'll keep those thoughts/comments to myself in the future.
It's Jimmy Carr live, the extended DVD that makes me do it.
If anyone would like a formal, verbal apology, i'll be up on Sat. Once again, sorry.
I'll edit the post so as not to cause any further offence!
I think an apology is in order

...The RATz crew, yet again, hardly anyone who said they would turn actually did, again showing a complete lack of commitment to the sport.
Well done Jamie and Shane for doing it in such a good time ;) and Rick for managing it even if he is over 50 years old and a very respectable time and well done my bro, James for getting lost :')
Just a reminder that this year there are two Bicyclemania rides - one on the 13th June and another late August. Hope the weather is as good as last year!
