View Full Version : Fort Bill
As most of you may know i have just got back from, what has to be the best week of ridin i have ever had, absolutly awsome,..
i think anyone who has been before will agree, its a punishing course, and arm pump is immense you just have to stop sometimes, as you can no longer hold on :\
anyway a real eye opener, and would recomend it to anyone, just be preared for the worst;-
bent bars
crimped hoses
wobbly freehub body
dinted rims
wobbly crank arms/pedals
shredded tyres/tubes
scratches/bruises
inflamed knee
and one broken finger.... that was just me
:\
fort bill on a hardtail seems like much less of a good idea than when "someone" suggested it a few weeks ago. id rather go to innerleithen ae and glentress agen anyway. fot bill is too far to go just for a weekend
Fort Bill quite literally ROCKS!!! I was there on Bens last day of riding and he helped me a lot by telling me stuff to look out for which upped my confidence. Cheers for that ben:thumb: The track was extremely hard and i ditnt do some of the large drops over TV sized rocks!:\ but i rode just about all the rest. My dad was there too with me and he did the same amount of things as me really but he did do the finishing slope. There are now three planks of wood across making it virticle in the middle. We each fell off me twice and my dad about six times but none of them wrecked us or our bikes:D Our for arms were burning within about 800 yards and had to stop for a lot of rests. The top part out of the forest is the hardest part but the part in the woods is just as phisically demanding(for me any way!)
I say my bike was fine but it still came out with:
scrached rims
scuffed master sylender on my break lever
torn bar grips
a grip screw on my pedals got ripped out by a rock
And me and my dad came out cut, bruised and aching every where!!!
Still I recomend you ride it :filthy:
the world cup is been held there on the 11th and 12th i think thats the date. nice to hear you guess had a awsome time.
world cup on the 10th and 11th, all the best for peaty! should be good to watch, but cant justify spending £70 train fair just to watch!
yeh was a good week riding !
tho made me realise...the brake levers really arent up to d/h lol.
When you reached for them they wernt consistantly there which resulted on me clutching the levers with 2 fingers almost constantly lol. Plus when you crash and slip into first its damn hard switching back up on a d/h course that demanding.
Peaty Wins at the Fort Yeaaaaaah
peat wins, minaar 4th (i think)
greta! apparently the atmosphere is emense :D :D
just wish i was there :\

cool
that guy on the rocky bit (first pic) was flying, and the wall ride was huge, it even had a platform for photographers and a bench for spectators!
the top guy was fast as nething, thought id missed him
Looks like me and my dad are going to make a trip up to the fort next month sometime as long as it works with his holidays and other plans and doesnt clash with my exams!!! and it looks like there's a hell of a lot waiting for us up there too!!! The new top section is looking mental and the extended 4X looks mental!!!
