along the same lines as the helmet thread...........

i was thinking that with these unpredictable showers we were having lately that it was finaly time to get me a new waterproof.

wondering if anyone else has one and what people think to wearing them for riding. i personally think its a tricky situation as waterproof material can often be very hot and sticky and generally unpleasant.

iv gone for the race face freeride jacket:

looks pukka and says it has big vents and tough fabric to cater for all your stacking needs.:filthy:

Personally i use an old goretex army jacket. The goretex takes care of any vapour inside and there nice and cheap.
Its stood up to a lot more crashing than any of my bike specific jackets so i will certainly replace it with the same when the time comes.

Hehe, shame its not breathable, youll be just as wet after wearing that for a while as if you hadnt bothered to wear any.
Breathability is the key.

just got it thismorning, seems nice and breathable, the underarm vents are HUGE! looks pukka too, and i especially like the drop tail bit at the back, my previous waterproof gave me a bit of a wet back, annoying as hell! ill give it the full test when it actually rains though
