i've finally managed to sit down and watch the helmet cam footage that the welsh crew did last time they were up :D it looks ace and whats more the trails look excellent too  i'll do my best to get it to Saxon and see if we can't host them on the site.altho i suspect the file size might be too big :\
the north shore looks good with ben(helmet cam) following me,altho i prob was slowing him down ;) the drops etc looked quite big (film, i think makes stuff look small) however the Trespass jump trail looks even bigger with ben following tom

Eye, it would be...
But..... our host charges quite a lot of money to video stream

The "flowshow" vid i did was 25meg at the lowest watchable quality. So imagine how big the file would be for the whole of the trail ;)

Its possible to host it from a private pc, but as i am down to one pc and a knacked laptop, i wouldnt want my pc on 27/7 which it would need to be.

I've got an idea.

As its looking like its gonna be hard for some of us to see the helmet cam vid. Why don't we get it banged on a few discs and anyone who really wants it can pay a cheeky couple of quid for it. And get it sent to them.

Just an idea, raises abit of cash too...

Lol, nice try. I think most email is limited to only a few mb of attachments, 20 max. And if youre on dial up, you will never be able to dl it as you will constantly time out.

Dark nights are here, which means i have a little more time to play around with all the video footage i have taken over the last year. I was thinking about knocking a dvd together of all the best bits and selling that if there will be much intrest. Of course there will be a small charge for the disk and my time, but being the generous chap i am, i will give up "my fee" as a donation to the club.

Who is intrested?

yes thats sounds great sime, i rekon the least you would want is £10 a copy, i will design some covers if you were to get some proper dvd cases, i think were now talking around the £15-£20 mark :fu: :fu:

Why not use Bittorrent - that way everyone shares the bandwidth once the initial upload has been done.

I for one value the security of my PC :hmm: and i hate p2p networks.

Also a lot of our members are only on dial up, it wouldnt really help.

I started work on the dvd last night and found a few problems
basically m$ moviemaker (which i use to capture video) has screwed up all the .avi files so no other program will open or convert them...... but i found something thats allowed me to ... finally.

mr fish, bring with you any video footage you have on sunday;)

Fair enough, but bittorrent is as secure as downloading anything off the web.

And just to be pedantic, bittorrent is not a p2p network, it's just a protocol ;)
