As some of us discussed thisafternoon.
We are possibly going to vist Wincobank and Wheelbase in Sheffield on Saturday.
Wheelbase is open noon til 6pm, so i suggest aiming to be in sheffield for 9-9:30 for a session at wincobank (if its not raining) and then on to the Inddor Dream for 12:00
I do however need to be leaving there around 4:00 unless i get a lift with someone else;)
So who is comming?
Apparently Winco is in a bit of a sorry state, but not sure to what extent. Doing Wharncliffe on sat so can't do that m8, might stop and say hello though if Im passing that way.
ben
Just noticed that this is going off on Sat guys.....NPS 4x Winter (http://www.naked-racing.com/) .
Sorry if this is what u were going 4 anyway :freak:

Right cool. We can still be there but it'll mean sacreficing saturday riding. Do you have to pay £16 on your 1st visit to wheelbase for membership + entry?

10 membership and 6 to ride, but i think they do a family membership if youre dad's comming along too ;) and i think its cheaper for under 16s
That is cool. My dad is coming too so when are you all setting off? Are we all meeting at wincobank
for under 16's i think the member ship is £5

well if we aim for 9-9.30 at wincobank, that will give us a couple of hours there and time to have some dinner before Wheelbase.
If people dont mind having there bikes on my car rack i can take 2 mre people, from the grimsby area or at an agreed meeting point (i accept absolutely no responsibillity for your bikes on my rack, they are placed there entirely at your own risk) ;)
do you mind me begging a lift sime from the usual pick up place :thumb:

Problem...
The midlands winter bmx series has a round at bolehills (sheffield) on sunday, so opening is going to be late.
May be best to postpone it for a couple of weeks or hit wharncliffe instead;)
I dont mind warncliffe( it is free for a start) I havent been for ages but we parked at the top more or less of the hil and it took ages to get to the dh bu tsomeone told us to park at some industrial estate?
gutted :\ :\ what about Wincobank/Rotherham ? :thumb:

Ok, here is the plan, I hope it suits all.
Due to the winter national at Bolehills, Wheelbase is not due to open until around 3:00 but will stay open later;)
The normal opening hours on Sunday are 12-6 so if they open at 3 in theory they should close at 9:)
My plan therefore is to head out on Sunday morning and check out a few bmx tracks and outdoor skate parks around Doncaster. Then on to Wincobank for a few hours and be at Wheelbase for 3ish.
Hope this suites?
Tom, do you want to come with us for the full day? Instead of meeting up somewhere.
Ken/Baker if youre still going, where/when do you want to meet up? (should be at Wincobank around 12:30 ish).
Ben, Usual place (maybe with Tom) say 9:00am and be back around 10:30pm (depending when Wheelbase closes)
Is that all ok?
Oh yeah, no spaces left with me now :(
What is the first place you are going cos we could meet up there or we could go strate to wincobank and meet you there
sounds cooool, cant wait, will speak more on saturday
Thanks very much!

Well i would say meet up at the Intake skate park in Donny, its probably the easiest for you (Baker/Ken) (go through bawtry to donny, past the dome, right at the roundabout at the racecourse travel a bit and keep looking to the right at the racecourse, its somewhere there).wow i can remember my way around donny, should do, i lived at the back of the racecourse for a bit (wonder if cantley bmx track is still there) Heres a link http://www.extremesports.ltd.uk/wheretoride/intake-skatepark.htm
From there we have a few choices:)

Then onto wincobank and wheel base.
Gonna be a busy day;) bring plenty of food/drink and pray it dont rain.
Cant wait:)

Ben, i am thinking maybe we need to leave a bit earlyier looks like a lot to take in ;) How about 8:00?
Ken/Baker be at intake park shortly after 9:00 :)
ye sure thanks alot sime. so we will meet you at 9:00 sunday morning.
Cant wait.

I can understand you not wanting to go to the skateparks, i wouldnt on my yeti (9" of travel would be a hinderance), but i would certainly try and get to Edlington and Hexthorpe, especially Hexthorpe (mini bmx track) aswell as full size. Those bmx tracks look like so much fun;)
If not, see you at Wincobank.
PS, your spelling is atrocious mate, could be your downfall on the new forum;)
We are going to meet you at wincobank, well you'll probably meet us there but you know. Don't know when we will be setting off yet but we'll see you there some time.

Excellent!
Intake skate park isnt worth a visit on an mtb (didnt matter we only met up there).
Hexthorpe bmx track is pretty cool, with some nice jumps, and some big jumps. mini track is just that. mini.
Hexthorpe Bowls - concrete bowls, ripping, pumping (highlight of the day, so far).
Wincobank, is wincobank (maybe someone else can fill in the details).
Got to Wheelbase at 4, all in darkness, ben was disapointed.
10 past 4 ben and tom getting very agitated "Come On".
20 past 4 man like hudu turns up and declares it a free session (not officially open).
Wheelbase was our own private session with just the 5 of us on the track! great. and did i say it was gratzis?
All in all an brilliant day that will be repeated again soon.:yeah:
Can me and will have some directions to wheelbase from meadowhall. I think were taking the train to meadowhall and biking the rest but apparently its 30 minutes away.
Doesn't matter anymore
Hell yeh that was one of the best days i have had yet! Very tyring(<spelling?) though. Wincobank i thought was well fun a few decent doubles and some sick hips and ben and tom made them sicker with gigantic air and, one footers and one handers from ben! nutta! I too was getting quite worried when we got to wheelbase and it was all in dark but then when the bloke turned up and said free riding, well you could imagine. No peddaling races were soo fun. good for when you are knackred too. Definately again! wheelbase has to be first though i think due to big time loss of energy(How many times have i mentioned energy, lol) :thumb:
I agree. Wincobank had a cool hip into a berm which you could get some serious air off. Then when we arrived at wheelbase and the doors were shut.... Oh dear ben. Anyway like sime said the guy turned up and we had a free session. But we were all nakerd so then we had a pumping race. Overall it was a awsome day!!! well worth the trip.
yeah a super day no doubt, Hexthorpe was really impressive i thought with big lines to charge aswell as the faster lines was a very good idea and a big start ramp/roll down, not forgeting the bowls, well how awsome were they! two next to each other one which was near enough vert, the other shallower. Sime surprised Tom and I and i am sure i saw a bit of old school bowl ridin' going on Sime, dropping in to the vert bowl first, true test dummy style and cleaned it. Winco bank, well, its Wincobank endless lines hip transfers amd snowboards with wheels bolted onto them 'knarly duuude' although could have been made better if the psyco Vicky Pollard (little britain) girl hadnt turned up at the end (but thats another story.) Lastly Wheelbase, soooo awsome Baker had some sorted manuals by the end of the private session, i a kinda, next time will have the last double :grml:
I was just wondering when the next trip to Wheelbase was, i really want to go and ride some 4x on my kona
Does any body know the web site address for wheelbase? I fancy going but i want to see what is there first.:?
http://www.dirtsociety.com/
I think its Tuesdays - Thursdays and weekends... dont qoute me on that tough as i think it depends on BMX/4X races around the area
