View Full Version : Mountain boards
i almost forgot to mention late last sat when i was about to leave, a couple of guys showed up with mtboards,Pete & Richard....i think sorry if i got this wrong  well anyway one of em rolled the start tower and thro berm 1 despite the very "soft" conditions,it looked pretty cool  ,later i saw them sectioning the trespass jump, to me it looked well dodgy :D in the wet , they reckoned it would be excellent in very dry conditions and very challenging compared to what else they can find in the area........sounds familiar :D
One of them was getting some pretty amazing air on the trespass jump despite the wet, and the fact he kept slipping right out as he turned.
Looked pretty impressive, but I'll stick to something that has brakes!
I'll stick to something that has brakes!
me too :D
Sounds fun, i think i'll stick to breaks too and a seat. The guys at wincobank were going pretty large so here in the dry it should be great for them!
Not trying to sound like a know-it-all because im not but you can get some with brakes on.
Yeah i thought that but i still don't think i would be very stable going at speed on a board seen as though i fell of my mates skateboard on flat pavement!
i was thinking of getting one actually seein as im not allowed to surf anymore. but i was thinking more along the lines of smooth grassy hills and the like, that sounds mental! especially in the wet!
our mtboard friends turned up again today, they very politly played at the bombin hole until it got quieter later on :D i must say it looked quite impressive, Pete seemed to have the most skill,he rolled the start tower, first berm, kfc, blue circle, trespass and finally attempted stuka which he unfortunatly cased ,i laughed my head off, it still looks well dodgy to me  they were all sporting smart helmets and want to join the club :D fair enough i say ;) if the same trails work for both :)

i after one now!! seen some vids off some websites and it looks awsome!! cheap too (compared to mountain bikes!!! :D )
WAHEYY got one! i'll bring it up the hill sometime and have a go, although its mainly for using with my powerkite.
im hopefully getting out in the next few weeks, aswell for a kite but i might give the TTT a go on it, the patio jump could be a laugh on it!
just bin doin some kiteboarding "practice" behind a quadbike round a field......Xtreme

lol... youll need to learn to use a kite too.....
I had an original blade 4m about 5 years ago when they first came out.. there fun... could easily fly through the air like superman for a good 20+metres and about 4metres up.. was going to get a kitesurf board but needed new forks so it got sold..
First time you launch the kite youll brickit, but its easy to get used to.
Oh and buy the biggest kite you can afford or youll soon out grow it.
im getting a 3m kite and a mountain board for £180
it should do to learn on ey?

if its new, that old saying "you get what you pay for" springs to mind ;)
meh im not paying for it, its a birthday pressie
i can fly a kite, had a flexi rage 4.7 for about a month now and been flying without the board to learn "how the wind works". launched the first few times in next to no wind and that way got the hang pretty quick.
my next kites going to be a blade IV i think, they look great! :D
saxon is right though, you do get what you pay for, the eola radsail series have been described as "toys" although i think that it's a bit prejudicial (bit like with saracens, not bad bikes, theyre just slammed cos people need something to slam)
yeah. but ittl do me just fine until i need/can afford a better one
Did i see you last week jack on rugby club with a big kite?
