Loving the cowan!! right up my street!! Great colour!!
I love my cowan and the price i got it for is even better. 525 quid with a spare pair of tyres, a STEAL!!!! and the colour's better than the cr*py 06 blue one
theres some nice bikes hidden around lincolnshire! shame out the lack of hills.

Loving the Stab but not too sure about triple crowns on HT
Yeah its not to everyones taste but its the second pair ive had on that frame and it seems to work.I may upgrade the frame to a light full sus in the future and sell it. the bars are a bit high aswell. its got some x-lite dh80's on and theyre massive.
The stab is nice though isnt it!!!!!!!
I love the Stab Deelux it's really nice to ride!!
heres my bike. its a pretty terrible picture and its lacking in seat in this pic too but you get the general idea.

looks nice.. again not sure about triple crowns on HT!! having said that it more of a visual thing rather than a performance thing!!
yea, i wanted the travel but didnt want to fork out for some 66's/shermans. i recon dual crowns on an HT looks kinda individual....... although more and more people are going that way. i also like the look of single crowns on an FS. maybe im just wierd!
Hatchleader
03-04-06, 09:55
as far as i'm concernd anything upto 170mm should be single crown be it full sus or HT after that should be dual!! dunno why but thats just the way i've always seen it!!
I think you're just backwards jack lol.
Took me time to get but here is my bike. It is mucky but it don't look too bad lol. Dabomb Mindbomb(speed rig) is its name 'n' downhill freeride is its game lol! http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/803157/
http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/803156/
Tell me what you think!
thats the first time i've seen that nad i gotta say its very nice...... although, i'd replace that helmet with a saddle before you break your ass! hehe. :filthy:
Hahaha. it is kinda painfull lol.when you get ridin again you'll have to have a go if you want!
awesome, definately very cool. always liked da bombs
Never heard of Da Bomb untill Baker got one but they do make some very nice frames.
Got my new frame;

And it finished
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j167/fracture14/DSCN0413.jpg
that doesnt look quite as pink as dave was making it out to be, looks good.
me neither i was expecting a baby pink, but when he said magenta i realised it would be purple
that looks very smart, the bike looks good with the super T pro's on :D have you managed to get a decent rear shock?
That looks mint. Like every one else says i thought it would be like bright baby pink but that is a lot more suttle lol! Those forks look awesome too!
Its pink, red and purple it all depends on the light lol (pearlesants for you) the rear shock is Ben's old DNM its really soft so I might need to get a harder coil for it. I just need to get the BB cups tapped then it will be up and running ready for Saturday ;)
Oh and the Super T pros are awsome ;)
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j167/fracture14/DSCN0417.jpg
It looks abit more pink in this one!
Looks smart will, that shock aint my old one, the one i used to have had a resivour, see you got the front wheel built up and the M4's mmmmmm, looking foward to seeing it, not this weekend but maybe the next ;)
Na that is the brand new shock i only rode about twice lol. Sorry about that i gave my dad the old one of bens before i knew about selling the frame to you.
If it's OK with Ben and James you can have the better shock. Ben gave it to us for nothing so you can have it for £100......Only Joking!!! you can have it for nothing. I had it on my Havoc until I built up the Muddy Fox. The only problem is it needs some sleeves to make it fit the through bolts, I had to rob them off the DNM and will need to rob them back to have any chance of selling the Havoc.
do what you want with it, put it to good use :)
Yeah that will be brilliant thanks Kenny, Ben and James. I have some bushings from the shock thats on it now so ill put them on it! When do you think that you will be next on the hill to sort things out?
Thanks again!
I think it will be sunday if my dad aint working cos am off to lincoln with some mates on saturday.
Cool, i'll try and change my plans around then.
Well if you can't do it its ok we'll be there sometime in the next week or so! Are you still thinking of doing a summer series?
No, I'm going to concentrate on my GCSE's if there is a race after then i might do it lol. :D
Oh yeah i forgot you were in yr11! So we will get the shock to ya on sunday hopefully i'll ring you if we can't make it
Thanks baker, sorry we got a bit Off Topic there, any more porn!!

Mr Fish, i never see any riders around, didn't think there were any in lincoln till now!
well me and fish both live within like 5 min ride so you got someone to ride with round here, im only 14 though so might not do your street cred much good =) lol
Yeh, welcome. Nice patriot, we already have a patriot tearing up the hill, it will be nice to see another up there

Danger Dean
18-05-06, 22:03
Dan Hart, i think i saw you guys in the arboretum, you were gap jumping the stairs in the middle, near the lion? I definatly saw a Stab Primo(i think).
Might be able to get out next fri, wont get home from work till 7ish and depends if i'm going to Wales on saturday;)
I don't know but i might be able to get there in half term in like a week today we break up so sometime in the week then but the only reason i am suggesting this is because most people will be at work so a lot of you probs will be too! Oh well if any one else can post it and i'll let you know if i will be there!
Yeah it was us dean. fish rides the stab primo, i ride a gray stab deelux with orange rims. stair gaps are great. i should be up forr a friday evening session next week. work and family permitting!
would like to join you on fri but its a long way from Norway (to bad) be back soon

25-05-06, 16:00
has anyone else noticed that karpiel has an avalanche dhs shock, and what looks like a fox air shock aaswell, whats that about?
Sweet looking bike, big yes, but that guy is a full on PORG (Person Of Restricted Growth) for sure...
dude i never noticed that
thats well weird
the guy in the photo is called "Krispy" and stars in the mtb film "third down" and no doubt many others,he certainly looks like he can ride the fcukin wheels off his bike in the film and he don't look too short,so the bike must be xxxlarge ;)
 its because gingers are the best riders
hahah:devil:
Hell ya! As a bunch of guys say at school we have flames for more speed lol!
I think it's a bit of both, he's not exactly an uber tall guy and the bike is monster
True Saxon
26-05-06, 07:40
krispy was one of the NS pioneers i believe, doing it since before it was fashionable. I think the xtra shock is either to assist in rebound or for negative travel (i read something like that ages ago).
Maybe the bike is soo big because of its 12"+ of travel ;)
Hmmm, i think its a bit OTT to be honest sure it'll be super fun to ride but is it really needed?
definately veeerrry nice. that karpiel (i think it was a karpiel) that bender was riding had two shocks. that was interesting, just a pure HUCK bike.
Ever since i got downhill domination on ps2 i loved the karpiel bikes! They really have style!
That game is MINT! I need to buy that again!
Carldeenio

Found this, a carbon framed downhill bike, different but damn its ugly... http://www.vorb.org.nz/images/albums/userpics/11256/DSC00710small.jpg
this looks quite kewl, even though i can't tell too well whats going on at the rear end; looks as though it has a fifth element coil and an air shock too...
http://www.vorb.org.nz/images/albums/userpics/14388/MyZed8.jpg
Carldeenio
28-05-06, 15:15
ok i've found out a little more about the second bike, its called a 2stage zed8, there from New Zealand, and yes they do have two rear shocks.
Interestingly, the high shock deals with the first half of the wheel movement, and the second with the final half...
pretty nice i think, what do u reckon???
http://twostage.virtuozzo.co.nz/cmsImages/Elite9_1.jpg
check it out...
http://www.2stagebikes.com/page/146
drool freeking awsome, i want one. Very clever technolgy by the looks of things!
nah i dont like it
it just looks like some new craze of putting an extra shock on for fashion and to make the bike more expensive, and atleast a shock heavyer.
id rather have a well thought out single shock, which is harder to do then wacking two shocks on
Carldeenio
28-05-06, 17:13
i must agree on the 2shocks, whats the point having 2air shocks which is double the weight when u could use one coil shock, still think it looks kewl though, and its different...
I like all of them, very different but kinda nice! they all look very tech which is what appealed to me:D
check out this beast http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/871731/ i love the swing arm ;)
I really like the idea of drives like that that don't use a rear mech - I wrecked another one yesterday when it swung into the wheel :(
check out this beast http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/871731/ i love the swing arm ;)

Nicholai may make some of the uglyest bikes in the business but they aint scared by what people think... something you got to admire about them in this day and age... Plus... They work!!!!
http://www.ultrasport.cz/nicolai/lambda%20st/1.jpg Theres something about them, there so damn ugly they acctually look damn good
You might call me crazy but all the bikes so far ya'll have said are hideous i think are totally awesome! I like different bikes really kinda make you feel special cos not many people have them hahahaha!
im sorry buit that nicolai would make me wanna join the russian army...
nicolais are definately very cool.
i love this hardtail. especially the way that the downtube (well, downtubes) are just one with the seatstays. what a beaut. might buy one just to look at lol.

look out for a new brake from formula, the "greg minaar signature edition oro"
ooooh so shiney.
And a new freeride brake from avid.... as spotted on sam hills bike.
The disk race hots up again...
Anyone got any pics of the Avid Freeride discs cos' i cannot find any?
Descent world forum somewhere, the modulation adjuster is in a diferent place on the lever, kind of laid flat as opposed to on top
True Saxon
06-06-06, 07:34
its tooked away near the lever pivot, the calipers are ugly, maybe it was a prototype, but there where way too many bolts.
http://www.singletrackworld.com/article.php?sid=1999
scroll down
im not too keen on the bolts tho :S the lever looks nice. i think my next brakeset (after the magura hs33's im after for my trials bike) will be them lovely hope freerides =)
and on the topic of trials, ben can you order in an ashton justice frameset?
and how much will it be? the RRP is £249 so how much discount would i get?
http://www.freeborn.co.uk/_gfx/products/000024/detail/8flat8-big.jpg
 i like alot, what makes it even better is the price, at £2,000 for that spec
http://www.freeborn.co.uk/_gfx/products/000066/detail/wilson-big.jpg
 I like it even more with the dhx air shock and fox 40's up front but then again it is even more expensive at £3,000
OMFG the Greg formulas look great! not too sure on the avids, the caliper looks very tacky, cast aluminium. only 250 GM sets world wide! i wonder if they will release the oro in that polished finish
The Greg Minnaar Replica look awsome, i want some, along with a lot of other things lol :D
i think the avids look quite good if they used less bolts.
i think the term is industrial?
Well the Avids are... erm... different!
those avids are actualyl kinda famililer....
silver M4's perhaps? when it was still two peice and no bore caps
just with two more bolts and a post mount adaptor!
As ben requested - some flics of the V10 with its new coat of paint built up. off to france on saterday so will probably be the one and only time it'll look this good! cheers again to ben for sorting out the painting.

Not sure thought its a bit boxy!
I was going to post this the other day but i forgot. I hate it, it just looks horrible and i much prefer the old one.
full review in latest dirt £4000 complete and comes in white, godawful imo, as they say in dirt something like 'it looks like they spent weeks developing the cast for the front triangle and a friday night knocking up the swingarm' the carbon seat tower is OK i suppose but its the ugliest thing i've seen
its really not nice ATALL
the old GT DH bike was well nice!
it looks like a prop from a batman film :D and it looks "cheap" £199 from your local motasave

thats ...UGGGGLLLLYYY!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGg a demond came to earth and took over the company! That is the ugliest thing i have ever seen!
Someone has just tried to be clever to see how many pivot points they can get on!
that shock does two jobs, acts as rear suspension whilst being a good crud catcher at the same time, the only good thing i can see is the adjustable seat tower other than that it awful
surely it makes an expensive crud catcher because it'll need servicing very quickly in muddy conditions

I recognise that bike.
I saw the guy on the train with it once. I was looking at his bike cos it was obviously pretty fancy and I was wondering if he could ride it as well as it looks like it deserves to be and he just started staring at me like I wanted to steal it.
Very nice! Loving all the green and polished alloy!
coxy, what a legend!
heres some pix of my new ride almost finished. think it looks kinda backcountry stylee. sorry about the terrible pictures theyre from my phone, i didnt have the presence of mind to go inside and get my camera.

i told u already mike, those forks were designed by a blind toothless venuzuelan hooker, recently graduated from the college of exceptionally bad design for especially tasteless blind venuzuelan hookers.
Remenicent of the old Z1 BAM fork from 99. old school baby. had a mate with a set on a zaskar, they were amazing. Lovin the new ones.

haha.. my mate still has them on his ble zaskar le....
i quite like the look of the new ones.
I like them and it's put me in 2 minds whether to revive my original Z1s for my Sintessi Bazooka project or fit those new ones.......the Sintessi is orange by the way :)
ben
hmmmm i'm not too sure on them much prefer a set of 888's world cups:D
I suppose the look is what puts me off, although that is really ponsy!!! They sound good and have the nice shapin of marzocchis! As Dave i'd rather buy a set of tripple clamp big travel forks though! The Roch Shox boxxer WCs are probably nearly the same weight as them too!
