View Full Version : Glentress
I heard Ben say he was going to glentress, well i think it was glentress. I found this on Google video, its only the freeride red run http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7435653454789054372&q=freeride&pl=true but i'm guessing they like table tops
Glentress rocks! it's really cool but not as cool AS...................... Innerleithen redbull dh project, its about a 5 minute drive from glentress. you can hit them both up in one day. both very very cool and well worth the long drive! can't wait to ride them both again sometime.
Ben was supposed to be coming but double booked himself  last minute chance for someone to go to glentress, its a hectic schedule set off early sat back sun night, party at the buzzards nest carpark with bonfire bbq dj's for my mates Phil & Lynne who are moving to Canada
oh and riding the new "Freeride" park :D
Sorry we can't come. Have a real good time!
Would really like too, but i'm not too sure i can:\
would you get some pics of the "freeride park" please! it was a bit, well, tame the last time i was there!

its changed loads mate,my camera malfunctioned  so do a search on pink bike, there are 2 trails one large table tops 21 of them  and a freeride trail which starts witha couple of log rides and leads to a rolling drop, nail this and the drop was over 10 ft :D followed by big berm rocks and a switch back and you were onto a choice of 3 piers with a very steep tranny,go slow off the biggest(because the run in was tricky) and drop 4-6ft,nail it off the middle one and you drop 10-12ft plus  followed by 2 wall rides which were to wet and onto the last couple of the other trails table tops and then step up jump onto the fun box 8ft high, you could roll it ;) .
great weekend and great party and bonfire for my mates Phil&Lynne who are moving to Vancover
sounds FUNKAY! and from what i see on pinkbike looks really really good, massive improvement! does it still all start next to that mini-quarry on the big bridge thing?
Good to hear you all had a good time! Sounds like we might have to visit again some time, lasdt time we went we were below starter which is terrible and we couldn't find nothing! Did you say it snowed when you got there?
Mr Fish, did you drop the big stepdown on the Red Bull DH at Inners?
How gnarly is it? It's kind of hard to tell from the few videos I've seen.
quarry jump? its a bit odd cos you plunge out of an open space down into darkness and it takes a while for your eyes to adjust. if you go really fast/high your head clips the tree canopy (not that i did!)

unfortunately my riding buddy Dr Nimul after having 2mins of riding at glentress on sat slipped and dislocated his shoulder.....again,i've lost count now how many times this has happened,he got it back in  saving us a trip to A&E  so i'm sorry to say our planned inners ride never happened :(

there's also a lot of new stuff at inners including this stepdown, locals say its about 8ft ;)
i've seen phil clip the trees whilst doin a table on the quarry jump  awesome
i heard the tales when i was up there but wasnt sure!
new stuff hmm, i've definately gotta get back up there in the summer!
Sounds great. Definitley worth a trip then, were there uplifts?
