As most of you know Jay and myself spent the weekend away in the remote countryside of Wales, west of Oswestry and Super store ;) . Once again the AA route planners estimated time was cut super short, i think we arrived with about an hour to spare on the 3hour 53minute journey, not that any speed limits were broken  . On arrival and after some grass tracking we managed to park up in an over populated field just in front of a stream which seporated the over nighters from the locals with the convienece of going home at night, once the bikes were unpacked we met up with the dis-dirt lads and were queing on the never ending line for the uplift, some people claimed to have been waiting for up to 1 hour to get a lift up on other forums, more like 30mins tops, just enough time to have a chat to barracuda bob, druel at a few 303 rails and critisize suspension designs, aswell as randomly picking tyre pressures and suspension settings. The uplift was relitivly fast, although the trailers were much to be desired  an open side trailer with a bit of loose string holding you in, or not as the case may be :( .
Now, the course, this course has to be one of the best i have ever ridden coming in close second from fort bill, its super off camber fast wide open sections instantly divided by the trickiest, tightest switchback corners in a mass of prickly bushes, at the bottom the track was wide open with switchback conrners just before the finish that had both Jay and I sliding around on the field aswell as the countless others wearing dodgy Ausie accsents 'thats rite mite foot out flat out' (Sam Hill.) The top section was unreal and somehow i managed not to fall off at all on the Saturday practise, then to balls it up on both race runs with stupid dumb ass crashes on the wide open off camber bits, the first run i came off twice, first on a sharp left, without the outside tape i took the corner waaaay to wide, once the tape finally came into view i was on the wrong side meaning dabbing my way back onto the track through the tape  then on the second set of switch back (by far the easiest i managed to wedge the front wheel into a thorn bush requireing a bit of umpf to get it out to the spectators emusement. The second run i put the wrong foot down on a super off camber out crop on top of a mass of rocks, scrabling my was down lower and lower until my line eventually took me onto the wrong side of the tape and braking infront of a stupid little prickly tree :grml: . Anyways although really p*ss*d off i had a top weekend, but not knowing what your time could have been really plays on your mind :hmm: . Jay got down clean on his second run but messed up his first (i am sure he'll fill you in ;) )
If this venue comes up again i HIGHLY RECOMEND IT, in terms of off camber think riding the roll down side ways on loose grass with a field of sheep, barbed wire and prickly bushes underneath you :( top laugh :D
