Firstly its been a while, just like to let you all know my wife gave birth to our son 'Kyle' on the 1st of May (happy times). Can't wait to get the little nipper riding.
Anyway, to the point. As some of you know i've currently got a Brooklyn Race link frame. I'm about 95% sure that i'm gonna get rid. So i wondered what people thought i should replace it with.
The yeti 303 is out (too expensive), plus ideally i'd like a full build, can't be doing with the hassle of building a bike up, but i'm open to frame suggestions. Was looking at a canfield f1, but like i said, not sure i want the hassle of building and importing one.
Also was looking at the trek session 10 (its been getting great reviews but is fairly heavy). Money isn't too much of an issue, and if its a brand spanking new bike, finance is an option.
So gimme some options, from the commercial bikes to the custom built...
i'm still slightly obsessed with the iron horse sundays, 8" of travel seems about enough in my opinion, the completes are great, they have the world cup for £4000 with world cup boxxers, sram X0 and other trick bits, the team is of similar spec just with boxxer team forks and X9 gruopset and then they do the elite for the marzocchi lovers and shimano gruopset. Lovely looking bikes and they apparently work good too  although i was 3 days impatient to get one......
So, thats what i'd do if money wasnt an issue, go for the world cup ;)
FOES MONO DH
with all the lovely azonic bits :d
so does that meen the brooylyns up for grabs:D
OOOOhhh. if moneys not particularly a problem you could have loads.
Rocky mountain RMX
Orange 224 GBR
Kona stab
Cannondale Judge
Giant glory
and the bike i'm most liking at the moment the devinci wilson, not sure where you can get them in the UK but still beautiful bike.

Congrats on the new arrival (kid, and planned bike :) ). "Money isn't too much of an issue" ... hasn't anyone told you how much kids cost yet...!

congratulations bud.
why you want rid of the brooklyn?swap it for a yeti dh9 (tubed), subject to test?
Theres plenty of bikes out there but i am unclear why you want a new one so soon, have you ridden the bmw enough to know its not for you? canfield is very similar ride.. just heavier;) the $ is weak against the £ right now, kinda rekindled my wanting a canfield.
Aint seen you on the hill for ages.. you been riding somewhere else? if not, hang on to the bmw, get used to it, save your money. or swap for my yeti;)
congratulations "Kyle Carldeanio" has quite a good ring to it ;)
swap ya BMW for an 04 stab primo ;)
Congrats Mate! What i would recomend is that you build one up! This way you'll get exactly what you want! Buy the frame set and the forks and if money aint a problem you have a very big range to choose from!

Cheers guys and thanx for the offers of the swapsies.
Been riding abit of BMX locally for a while (not had the moolar to do anything to the bmw [until now] and i've got no way of getting to the hill from Louth).
To answer your Q si, i havent done anything with the race-link since i've had it. So i was thinking if i sold it i could use the money as a down payment for something new or buya fairly new second-hand dh/freeride rig, saving me the effort of building one up.
I've also been thinking about seeing if i can get my hands on a bmw fq. Due to it being more of a do anything freeride bike. Even though i'd have to build it i think the cost would be a little less than the race-link build would be for me.
The Race-link is up for grabs if anyones interested (bearing in mind it cost me £1800 at the start of the year)...

would it not be more economical to just build up what you have? as money is no object;) you would loose money if you sold it.

hmmm, maybe, but building a full on dh bike is expensive plus the brooklyn frames don't really loose any money...
plus i want something that i'm gonna be happy with for the next 2-3 even 4 years...
surely its no more than buying a full build to build up what you have

true, but i'm really keen on the idea of getting an fq if i can. this might sound abit snooty, but i like having something different and quite unique plus its the sort of bike that u can do abit of everything on. Not saying the race-link isn't unique though.
I'm thinking out loud here, and i appreciate having your guys input...
what you want is a custom built cove shocker from rasen bikes, it dont get anymore unique than that, shocker frame, 888rc2's, sram X0, SDG i beam saddle and post with race face finishing kit ;) it'kk be the dogs....... at a REALLY good price
I tried to reply yesterday but was denied the post because it asked me to re-login on the submit bit....and I'd wrote a long reply as well...bugger !!
Anyway after time to reflect on what I wrote, I can condense as follows:
Exhaust the Racelink option fully. If its not built then your welcome ride mine if you want with the 888s up front but not just round in a circle in a car park as some people do and then say f**kin hell that weighs a ton, but in anger over some decent terrain, you'll apprecaite what it can do then. If its financially not viable then so be it.
GT-IT1.....erm no, bad hash up design and really spaced gearing.
Canfield F1......my possible next weapon of choice, but I've ridden my RL hard and I'm a bike whore anyway.
BMW FQ......interesting but 24" wheels don't cut it for me on DH duties.
Balfa BB7.......Dis-Dirt Mike has one and loves it (he's a bike whore as well...TMX, Clifcat, Foes)
I may have mine up for sale but I haven't really a reason why.

What ben said:eek: :D drool
What's a really good price then Ben?.....tell us more.
Wait a few more weeks then it'll come clear ;) if you have a disired bike spec with parts availible from us we will no doubt match prices found elsewhere and in the not too distant future :D be able to beat them...

Afriad we cant get avalanche shocks, although the new Marzocchi roco is availible ;) were still waiting for your helmet along with others, it will be one of the first in the UK and as soon as it comes i will let you know
Get Avalanche stuff direct from them Si, its really easy. I got my Ti spring within 5 days and paid by Paypal which helped simplify things. They're damn helpful over there and respond quickly to any queries you may have.

cheers ben, i was gonna order a shock from them and have it sent to my mate in the states to send over to me... was just wondering if rasen bikes could have got one for a good price.
Hmmmmmmmm this is odd, they dont make the DHS to fit my frame, or any other shock to fit it, closest is "maybe". thats damn weird. well i wonder if risse shocks are as good as their forks.
