If you could spend 2 minutes answering the 2 questions of my tech questionnaire it would be much appreciated:
1. Do you have a need for any of the following cycling related items?
-Workstand
-Tool chest
-Protective clothing storage
-Bike storage (to store your bike when not in use)
2. Do you have any of the above products, if so do you have any suggestions to improve them?

If you could spend 2 mins explaining why you want this info?

1. Do you have a need for any of the following cycling related items?
-Workstand = Yes, surely everyone has?
-Tool chest = Yes and no, at home its a small chest, mobile i have a small toolbox.
-Protective clothing storage = Yes, the boot of my car or ontop of the bookcase in my pc room.
-Bike storage (to store your bike when not in use) = Yes under the stairs and in the spare room.
2. Do you have any of the above products, if so do you have any suggestions to improve them? = Yes, make my tool box lighter (titanium tools?), and make the space under the stairs bigger and make my stairs wider so its easier to get a bike up them.

Work stand - would buy a park tools stand as its simple, lightweight has a clam style clamp and folds away

Tool Chest - i have a storage box for them but also have a wall for them to hook onto, my prefered method as its much easier to find and place tools

Protective clothing storage - A hokk where everything goes in the garage... the hook works good enough

Bike storage - garage, one in the stand, one on the floor, again OK, tried using the stand from the shop but big tyres just bend them

make a bike stand with a foot operated clamp as it can be a struggle with a 50lb dh bike holding it in one hand, while doing up the clamp with the other ;)

Sorry i didn't explain clearly. For my GCSE tech coursework i need to come up with a topic which i feel has a need for a new product, then use a first questionaire as market research to find out which products is most needed then the second question was aimed to find what is the problems with existing products on the market and what you would suggest to improve them so i can incorporate your ideas in my designs.

fishes idea was cool, and take it one step further. ie have the bike clamped and then lifted to the desired height by hydraulics, all operated by a foot switch.... cool.

Yeh either a clamp engaged by a foot plate or either a normal clamp with something to raise it so you don't have to raise the bike upto the clamp it can be raised once clamped securely

1. i have a tool chest yes.

2. it could be improved by having compartments more suited to bike-specific tools.

For the people who travel with their bikes what about a tow bar mounted workstand, something that clamps on enabling you to work on your bike from the back of your car
