I was looking for a map of the UK with loads of cool riding spots on so I can plan some future trips. I couldn't find anything so I figured I'd start one myself. Obviously though as I'm just getting into it I don't know of all the famous spots. The map so far can be found at http://www.flagr.com/maps/mountainbikespots

If you join flagr.com you should be able to add places or you could just reply to this thread with the name of the place and I'll try to find the place and add it myself.

I might have got the positions of some of the spots slightly wrong as well, if you notice that you can tell me and I'll try to fix it.

I'm trying to add places good for cross country, downhill, street or whatever. There must be thousands of cool places.

Anyway, see what you think.

You must have a heck of a lot of time on your hands eh? (why not join the club and come riding ;) ).
Pretty cool idea although the map is way out and pretty useless. ie the wharneclif link almost points to hamsterly and cwym carn shows just west of birmingham.
It would also imo be more useful to have spots highligted on the map itself, then if someone is looking for a place in a particular area they dont have to read through everything until one points to the area they want.. or not;)

I get bored at work and I like looking for cool places to ride.

I sent my membership fee off a couple of days ago :)

I should be at the hill tomorrow, depending on how my back is as I fell off yesterday.

the wharncliffe one is bang on target, the bottom of the pin thing is where the place is, if you zoom in you can see what i mean.

That's precisely what I can see when I look at the page. I'm not sure what must be going on for you.

You should be able to see a load of blue pins on the maps in the locations I have added.

...and Wharncliffe looks ok to me.

maybe the zoom in function is for registered users then and the markers, here i dont see them and cant zoom in. if i hver my mouse button around sheffield, wharnecliff shows up, i click it and zoom in and get a close up of wharnecliffe.

I made those screenshots whilst logged out.

I thought we were supposed to be a secret location?
"Hamilton Hill
Downhill freeride trails with big drops, berms, skinnies, a seesaw and many jumps.

Nice idea though!

or maybe my browser sees them as pop ups, no idea.
And will is right (i didnt spot it), if you could remove the reference to here, we are not open to the public, in fact we are not officialy open at all yet! And for now we would like to control our own advertising.
It may be beneficial to ask the owners of any sites you want to link to before linking to them, keeps everyone happy;)

Ok, I've deleted it. Sorry, I didn't know it was a secret.
