lets wait and see what the general consensus is
It should be a great weekend! I am going to go whether i am riding or not! I think i will take my bike still, but will have to see how my arm fairs to the terrain! It wasn't too bad today riding in my local woods!
any one got a spare seat i can take up?
happy to chip in petrol money!
also happy to sit in the back of a van with all the bikes!
Crikey mikey calm down we'll sort it all out when we know who and how many etc etc ;)
lol sorry
mitea got a bit carried away...

i think the fact baker completely rewrote his last post after fwogddy refered to it, has made him look desperate;) why baker, why?
only 2 weeks now. cant wait. just hope the weather is good. looks like its gonna be a good turnout. even got myself a nice new marzocchi jersey for the event.

come on then folks 9 places left!!! ;)
I'll put my name down if there is a way for me to get there and someone will show me where to hire a full sus bike.
No way I'm going to try Caersws on my hardtail, I'd die twice or worse.
How much will it cost and what time will everone be leaving and returning? I have work y'see, I might be able to wangle a day off though if necesary.
its is £20 plus fuel costs etc etc...
goign early sat coming back late sunday i think
I think Jay might be thinking of turmnin up some time, he is at his parents so it not too far, he not too sure whether he has a broken wrist though so i think he will be getting in touch with you(fish) to discuss when he gets home

we can get you there and back no probs,i'm not to sure where you can hire a bike from, pearce cycles hire them out but thats quite a way from caersws maybe you could ask around for a loan bike, anyone help out?
Caersws is do-able on a hardtail but not with geometry like your trek ;)
if not you could always blag rides on other peoples rides

hhhhmmm!! i back from glentress on the 8th, and depending on the way you goin to Wales (it would be an understatement if i said i not a road expert but i know that one way to wales is past leeds along M62) you could nip off M62 to my house (spitting distance away) and pick up me hardtail! it more of a freeride type bike (see first post on Bike Porn thread) and would probably cope with caersws ok!!
you would have to promise to take care of her tho and have her home for 11 ;)

plus theres the chance that i trash her in glentress which, lets face it, might happen with me on board!!
has anyone got a post code for this place id like to find it on a map. which town is it near?
True Saxon
02-09-06, 20:28
its a few miles west of newtown
in between oswestry and welshpool pretty much bout 1/2 hour drive from oswestry
Just find caersws town(village), it like 1 mile maybe less from there, if you thinkin bout gettin there we usually meat up n sorta convoy there, is this gonna happen? We could exchange bikes for people into our car too if you want?
ive found it on the map dosen't look hard to find, but quite a long way. a convoy sounds like a good idea anyone decided on where this will start from?
Well you live in springthorpe right? We could meat up in gainsborough somewhere and then get on our way from there, there is a layby on the A46 i think it is where we usually meat up with fish, it up to you what you want to do but we will be going gainsborough, newark way(i think it is newark;))

Sorry guys, but i can't make it, been trying like crazy to get the weekend off work but its just not going to happen. Next time hopefully:)
shame dude

Is everyone going looking forward to it then? weather doesnt look that that bad for the weekend for you lot :) sunny with a little cloud apperently.
I sure am, 5ish weeks off then bit of easy ridin then to get back into it another trip to wales, result! Shame you can't come dean!!! what is the run of weather in the week, that should say how the track will be better than the weekend weather, could rain continuously then be nice for the weekend?!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=3592, up to thursday is all the same sunny with cloud so should if there is no rain this week it should dry out.
Oh nice!!!! Should be a blast, need to session some parts of the track, especailly the straight with the table and step up on it;) (That where i broke my arm for those who didn't know;))
Good luck with that dont bust your elbow again!
I'll try my best, i think it will be the 30footer that chalenges my elbow most;)!
lol caersws this weekend wharnecliff the one after
god have mercy on my bike

That's very kind of you, I'll have to see what Mr. Fish says about whether it's possible to collect it. If it is I promise I'll treat it with the utmost care and respect.

i think leeds is a bit out the way....
the weather does look good, i do live in springthorpe newark A46 looks the best way.
So do you want to meat up in gainsborough? should work good that way, then meat the other guys on the a46 somewhere?
Been discussing with Steve_p about the weekend and a thing that popped up was food:devil: !! I know that there is a bonfire that is going to fuel a bbq but what food will go on it;) !???? Do we bring stuff everyone will like and throw it all together or bring stuff just for yourself and cook it on an open bbq??
Also breakfast for sunday mornin, will we be doing the same cookin on a bbq or will we be cooking on stoves and makin bacon butties etc(or egg;) mike...??)
Simon/ fish you were probably thinkin of putting up a rough brief any way but thought i'd better ask incase ;)
ill bring a heavy supply of veggie food and snax:D
do we know what the final decision is regarding vans etc? and how we are all getting together to get the same van?
True Saxon
04-09-06, 21:58
food..well, for a small fee (each) i am sure that fish could negotiate a good deal with one of our sponsors;)
garlic free cough cough
Yeah i dont mind paying, i was just wondering wether i will need to drive because its getting close and need to make arrangements so i can have the car all weekend. is everyone taking a tent each/ between a couple of people?
Well me and my dad will have our tent for us, so if any one is stuck they can have the sittin area/dome but it may be a bit breezy, ben was ok i think at midlands so that is there if there is nowhere else for people to go!

if i take my big one, there is a spare room (sleeps 3 very cosily)
Steves got a good one. sleeps 8, but maybe more if people sleep in the living area. just need a pretty big area to pitch it. If we go in one of our cars then we will probably take the big camping stove. or take it in the van if we are having one.
Me,Dan & Steve in the van for the outward journey, Ben,Mckay & Mikey with Aaron, sime with Tom oaks and James with ken. we'll sort out the return journey later ;)
i've booked a renault master so we can take loads of stuff and use it for uplifts on sat afternoon ;)
That's very kind of you, I'll have to see what Mr. Fish says about whether it's possible to collect it. If it is I promise I'll treat it with the utmost care and respect.

It was sick! Totally awesome weekend! I managed to get 7 runs on saturday and 11 today, i am now....... KNACKERED!!!!! The steep chutes and jumps were all so nice!! Nice and dusty too allowing traction but also letting you drift when needed! I also only had the one crash that made me some totally off the bike and just the tiniest graze on my knee!
Thanks alot to fish for the organisation of the whole thing i loved every minute of it
Thanks to all the guys who gave me tips and pointers on how to get faster lines etc., and thanks to col for pushin me a little, gave me quite a confidence boost on what i can really do!!!
