View Full Version : Enduros/24hrs/Transalp/Trans Scotland and the like....
Alright folks,
Any of you lot up for any of this little lot? Merida Enduro series, Transalp (8 days from Germany to Italy through the Alps), Trans Scotland (same kinda thing round Scotland) Salamon/Saab 24hr, Sleepless in the saddle 24hr, plus any other races round this neck of the woods.
Did em all bar TransScotland whilst at uni, but lacking local riding buds to get involved with now.
Anyone keen, plus a bit of riding in the peaks, gimme a nod.
cheers,
Rich
   no thanks    i'd be up for ridin with you, always up for meetin new people, but yikes, they all sound a bit erm........... long hehe :D
That would be very fun. The only problem is no time in the next 4 years with exams and all that stuff. Mayb a thing 4 a gap year thing though!
When were you planning to do it all mate?

Dunno about doing the events, not sure i have the fitness anymore but i ride in the Peaks every now and then so i'll let you know when i'm going next
Nice, yeah, get in touch if you want to go over to the Peaks.
Meridas run April -September: http://www.mtb-marathon.co.uk/
that includes Transcotland as part of the series, and also a 150km race in austria.
Transalp books up in about 4hrs of opening in November, race is in July -well worth the effort -awesome riding; http://www.bike-transalp.de/. One for next year if anyones keen -2 person race teams.
Salomon/Saab mountain Mayhem 24hr books up proper early too: http://www.ssmm.co.uk/, but a quality event....
as is sleepless: http://www.konasits.co.uk/
I'll probably just do a few Meridas as most stuff has booked up for this year, but if anyones keen to do something next year, get in touch. 24hr races are teams of 2,4, 5 or solo.
Also, adventure racing (running, kayaking and mtbing) any takers?
cheers,
Rich
What do you take us all for??? Some fitness freaks :p only messin. sounds great fun. im guessin you need a fairly good bike to get round it in one piece!
Lol, yeah, thought that might have been the general vibe! Just testin the water m8. I dunno, 10yrs back when I was into dirt, you couldn't get people to help dig dirt 4 love nor money -now I'm into XC its all gone full circle!! Oh the humanity!
-yes, you do need a reasonable steed to do this type of thing on. probs not a good idea having your frame snap in half, half way down some alpine mountain!
That said, my team m8 first time round i did it did do it on a fully rigid LOOK....but I wouldn't advice it if you intend having any kids.
