Default September 2009 - Busy

September 2009: Busy

Well, perhaps I should take back what I said last month about the end of summer. Sure the nights are drawing in and the mornings/evenings are definitely getting chilly. But hasnā??t it been good weather!
So much so that dare I say we could use a little rain to damp down the dusty trails.

Well we have been pretty busy this month.
The dual track has more than doubled in length owing to having a few good hands and that all important JCB. Still a little tweaking to be done and as per the above comment, itā??s a bit too dry at the moment. Check out our trailblazerz account on pinkbike for pics.

We have been busy with a bit of trail maintenance too, topping up jumps and the like. We have a FC inspection looming so donā??t be too surprised if your roped in to a bit of trail maintenance when riding up the hills.
On this note, please take your rubbish away with you.

We had our annual committee meeting last week, no real issues have been raised. The forthcoming inspection was one of the main discussion points, it was also decided that the continuation of the dual track will be our main focus over the coming months.

Another matter that arose was club memberships. Yes we are slack. But there appears to be a lot of riders up the hill who have either never joined the club or regulars who havenā??t renewed their memberships for some time. We now have a new membership secretary so we shall shortly be on top of our side of things. Membership is per year, not a one off fee.
Over to you!
Remember, membership fees are used to develop and maintain the trails your all riding, without them, where would we go?
There are some bike parts similar to ours that charge a lot more as an annual subscription than we do, then charge you per session on topā?¦ ouch!
There have been one or two changes within the committee too. Due to work and other commitments, both Ken and James Baker have regrettably resigned from the committee. May I take this moment to thank you both for all the support and time you have given to the club and the project. I know it wont be the last we see of you on the hill.
Another thank you to Mrs Cooke for her time and effort as club membership secretary, Thank you all from everyone at Rasen Area TrailBlazerz.
Replacing James as Junior Committee Member is Zakk Brown, Welcome aboard Zakk. If any of you younger members have any issues or suggestions, Zakkā??s your man.

So what else has happened. This time next week most of us will be at Caersws, cant wait.
T-shirts are selling well, if you havenā??t got one yet, why not?
Hopefully we will be supporting the tees with hoodies in the near future.

The preliminary dates for this years race series have been released <CLICK>
No courses decided yet, but as usual there will be some top racing.

Thatā??s about it for this month. A few other things are still going on ā??behind the scenesā? so to speak, you will all know soon enough.

Ciao until next month.
