November 2009 – Another quiet month really.

I can’t believe a month has passed by already. It’s been another quiet month for us, with the exception of the 1st race of our new series.
Due to bad weather on the day the turn out wasn’t so good, only the diehard ventured out that day. The late arrival of the predicted rain and lack of wind meant that it rained all morning and everything got soaked and there was a little track flooding. The decision was taken to postpone the event until 23rd November. It just didn’t seem right charging people to race a “fun” race in those conditions, the BBQ was struck up and the usual banter ensued.

The rescheduled race day went well, the weather wasn’t bad and the track was changed to a more rideable one. Although, the roots at the top of the course proved tricky for most. No prize for guessing who took fastest time of the day with the usual steam train down the hill run.
Photos are in the gallery and the full race results and point standings are here

A big thank you to all the race sponsors and volunteers who made the race possible.

Round 2 of our 4 round series will be on 17th January 2010, make sure your there as it should be a good one.

With club funds starting to build up again, further expansion of the duel track should begin fairly soon. Watch this space.

I have been struggling to find time to get out on my bike lately, only at night. I have got to say, if you haven’t tried night riding, you really are missing out, it might be slower (for me at least) but it feels fast and bigger. Christmas is around the corner so maybe santa will bring you some lights.

I can’t really think of anything else to say so I shall say adios until next month.
